We are looking for an experienced, talented and proactive Software Tester to help us improve the quality of our next-gen, web-based 3D-data visualisation application which is in early stages of its development.
We use a variety of web technologies and our development process often has similarities with games or graphics applications.
You will be the sole tester within a small, fast-moving startup, working closely with developers and stakeholders to understand and improve our product.
You will independently design, develop and execute manual and exploratory tests for both new and existing features. Your role will include triaging and prioritising defects, suggesting enhancements, and establishing best practices for integrating testing into our development and release cycles.
Manual testing is vital to us at this stage of our product development. Our product is evolving quickly and to be successful in this role you enjoy that challenge. Your initiative and drive will be essential for the team, and we will encourage you to seek improvements and evolve our testing strategy. Automated testing is part of our QA strategy and will become increasingly important over time.
You have a keen interest in understanding how quality assurance shapes the overall user experience and product outcomes. You will be comfortable following the vision of our product/domain exports. You are open-minded and pragmatic, able to support the team to make sound decisions. You understand the importance of becoming a product expert as a tester in an agile environment.
If you're enthusiastic about shaping quality in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and are motivated to grow your skills alongside a committed team, we'd love to hear from you.
The team has a diverse mix of skills with backgrounds in literature, medicine, maths, physics and computer science. As life-long learners we have a broad range of interests beyond our own specialisms.
We aim to foster an intellectually stimulating environment with an inclusive culture. We put emphasis on the craft of our work and sharing of knowledge within the team to ensure that we can all grow and improve together. We would love for you to contribute to that!
We start with a 45 minute introduction call to learn more about your experience, interests and background and share more details about our company and the role.
Our second stage is a homework exercise to create a test plan for an online product. When you return the homework to us, we'll schedule a 60 minute in person interview with you to talk through your submission, your past work and explore more questions. This is also an opportunity to meet our team and see our office space.
The last stage is a 30 minute conversation and demo with our director, Tom Beddard. After this, we will be able to make a hiring decision.
We believe the interview process should be a positive experience regardless of the outcome.
If this interests you then email us and we can start a conversation.
